Once upon a night so dreary,
I sat and pondered, weak and weary,
With what my hunger I shall sedate,
So to the kitchen I went and ate.
Some crackers here, some chips right there,
But then I had to stop and stare.
For low before my eyes I saw,
A snack for which I dropped my jaw.
This cakke of sweetness so divine,
I had to stop and make it mine.
A slice of this treat I dared to take,
My sweet and lovely red velvet cake.
